As winter's chill descends, my heart doth sink, For I know what lies ahead, the dreaded weight gain, The days grow shorter, my couch calls my name, And exercise routines, they shrink and shrink. The wind outside doth howl and moan, But inside, it's cozy, warm, and snug, And as I nestle down with my favorite mug, I can feel my motivation groan. The snacks, they beckon from the pantry shelf, And before I know it, I've consumed them all, My waistline expands, my health declines, I bawl. But oh, the joy of laziness and sloth, It's hard to resist, so I'll indulge and scoff, Until springtime's call to action, my only hope.

Amidst the peaks of Upstate New York, Where the air is crisp and the landscape pure, Stands a wooden cabin, weathered and worn, As snowflakes gently drift and swirl. The mountain stands tall, a silent guard, Over the land that it calls its own, And the cabin sits nestled in its embrace, A peaceful haven, far from home. The snow covers everything in sight, A blanket soft and pure and white, And the cabin, snug and warm inside, Is a welcome respite from the biting cold. With a fire crackling in the hearth, And a mug of hot cocoa in hand, One can watch the snowflakes dance and twirl, And feel the peace of this winter wonderland. So let the snow fall and the wind howl, For here in this cabin, safe and sound, We can enjoy the beauty of this mountain, And the simple joys that it surrounds.
